Village of Southampton Heartsafe Community

Several years ago, several members of the SVVA decided to take steps forward to establish the Village of Southampton as a Heartsafe Community. Our long term plan includes early recognition of cardiac arrest, widespread CPR training, and public access defibrillation. While short term solutions provide early and quick access to emergency medical care, surviving sudden cardiac arrest depends on early CPR. Our long term goals are outlined below. As members of the community and visitors to others, you have the ability to play a major part in the chain of survival.

CPR Save
Crew members from the Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance and Southampton Village Police Department were recognized and given CPR Save Awards at the Suffolk County REMSCO meeting for a job well done on a recent cardiac arrest call.

Step Three - Combine it all

Combine the widespread CPR training with the easy access to AEDs to create a Heartsafe Community full of community members ready to react in the time of need.

What if every person on the sidewalks and beaches of our community knew CPR? What if there were easily accessible AEDs available for those in a time of need? What if you could help make this possible? You can. Get in touch with us to learn how here
