Standard First Aid
This course is the most basic first aid course. Students will train to handle common emergencies such as bleeding, burns, head and spinal injuries, bites and stings, etc. The purpose of this course is to help participants identify and eliminate potentially hazardous conditions in their environment, recognize emergencies and make appropriate decisions for first aid care. It teaches skills that participants need to know in order to provide immediate care for a suddenly ill or injured person until more advanced medical care arrives to take over.
*Please be aware that this course is presented along with a training video that depicts potential first aid situations (i.e. cuts and burns). Although these depictions are portrayed by actors they may not be appropriate for all audiences. Please use your discretion when applying. There is a practical skills component. This is credentialing or card bearing course.
